Occupying a tranquil and picturesque position on a working Dairy Farm Called Heathfield Farm, this semi-detached holiday cottage boasts stunning views.Sleeping four, it makes an ideal base for a walking, hiking or cycling holiday. Bear Cottage is situated on Heathfield Farm and the nearest village is Brentor and The nearest  Town is Tavistock both 5 mins drive.

Brentor Village is a village in West Devon and lies about half a mile from the familiar West Devon landmark of Brentor Church, a picturesque 13th century church perched precariously atop the granite mound of Brent Tor.

Bear Cottage has two bedrooms. The master is a large room with a four poster king size bed with an en-suite shower room. The second room has two 2'6" twin beds. Both rooms have beautiful views over the gardens. The lounge has comfortable sofas which can be further enjoyed in front of the log burning stove. There is a selection of books, DVDs, games and a comprehensive folder of local information, recreation & services/facilities. A colour TV and DVD player are also available. The kitchen has a washing machine, fridge freezer, microwave and cooker. The dining room is inviting with a snuggle area and table seating for four.

The bathroom is equipped with a shower and a bath.

The attached patio garden is a great place to relax whilst listening to the stream that runs across the end of the garden (NOTE - the stream is not fenced off and children should be supervised at all times) There is also a picnic table allowing for outside dining and storage space for up to four bikes in the storage under the cottage if required.

The property benefits from wireless internet access - the access/security code is clearly printed within the property information folder.

No smoking is permitted inside the property although there is a private garden also with a table which may be utilized as a smoking area, if desired.

Well behaved pets are allowed to stay at the cottage free of charge.

There is dedicated parking at the cottage right outside.

Lydford Gorge
The Lyd is a river rising at Lyd Head (Corn Ridge in NW Dartmoor)
in the Dartmoor national park in Devon in south-west England and flowing into the River Tamar beyond Lifton. This is the deepest gorge in the South West of England

Brentor Church
The Church of St Michel de Rupe ("Saint Michael of the Rock") atop the Tor dates to the 13th century, and measures 15 feet (4.6 m) wide and 37 feet (11 m) long. The tower is 40 feet (12 m) high and houses five bells At one point, the Church may have been used as a Beacon tower, used to spread word of enemies seen out to sea !
Cycling
Whether you are a passionate pedaller or a casual cyclist, Dartmoor has the route for you; winding country lanes with little or no traffic, challenging inclines and dramatic descents. You will see the remains of ancient stoneage villages, cross rivers and streams, pass clapper bridges and standing stones. There are 368 square miles of Dartmoor to discover.
Local Pub
The Castle Inn offers open fires and a cosy and welcoming atmosphere whether you are popping in for a quick drink, cream tea, snack or choose  dining in the bar or restaurant 
Tavistock 
Tavistock is an ancient market town not far from Brentor. It is situated on the River Tavy from which its name derives. It traces its recorded history back to at least AD 961 when Tavistock Abbey, whose ruins lie in the centre of the town, was founded. Its most famous son is Sir Francis Drake.
Horse Riding
If you love to ride horses, Dartmoor is the place to do it: for the dramatic scenery; for the challenging routes; for the open skies and the peacefulness; for the elements all around. You may be a beginner on your first trek or an experienced rider embarking on another adventure; either way, Dartmoor is hard to beat. You can ride out on to the open moor, trot along woodland trails and bridleways, or follow in the hoofprints of Dartmoor’s forefathers along historic byways.
